WELCOME FROM GOVERNOR BENJAMIN CAYETANO

Aloha and welcome to the home page for Hawaii State Government. As Governor of the beautiful Aloha State, I am extremely pleased to make information about its government accessible through the World Wide Web. As the site develops, you will be able to access information from various state departments and agencies, from Agriculture to Transportation. Each month, one government service will be spotlighted. Releases from the departments will keep you abreast of the latest happenings and also provide an archive of older releases. For information on events and activities in Hawaii, go to What's Happening. I encourage you to browse through the available options and to revisit the site often, as information will continually be added -- just click on What's New or May We Help You to see what's available.

Information from the Executive Branch is our starting point, but that's just a beginning. We are committed to developing www.hawaii.gov into a one-stop resource where Hawaii's citizens (and anyone else who is interested) can come for information from and about Hawaii's government.

As some of you know, Hawaii was a pioneer among the states when it introduced its statewide gateway, Hawaii FYI, in 1991 -- some years before the Internet and Web became near-household words. It seems only natural that we now extend and expand access to the global community and add another surf site to the map.
To see where we're heading just stop by from time to time and check out what's new.
